Requirements
The Center for Teacher Education shall take courses for at least 2 years (at least 4 semesters; at least one education course per semester) with a maximum extension of 1-2 years. Starting from the 108 academic year, a maximum of 10 credits can be taken in each semester. (When the Ministry of Education issues a teacher´s certificate, it will examine whether the length of study meets the requirements of four semesters.)
It is necessary to complete“2 basic education courses” and “2 education method courses” before taking “Content & Pedagogical Method”; After completing the Content & Pedagogical Method, you can study “Teaching Practice”. Therefore, in order to successfully complete the Teacher Education Program within two years, two basic education courses and two education method courses must be completed in the first year.
According to the Course Credit Table for the Teacher Education Program at Chung Yuan University, each school should include field study in planning various types of education professional courses, and provide at least 54 hours of internship, trial teaching, practicum, remedial teaching, classroom counseling, or service learning in secondary schools during the program. Students are required to complete at least 54 hours of service learning and have the school certify that the content is in accordance with the professional knowledge of education.
In accordance with the Ministry of Education′s “Technical and Vocational Education Act” published on January 14, 104, Article 24 stipulates that the pre-service education courses for teachers in upper secondary schools and below, subjects related to vocational education and training and career planning are included as compulsory credits.
In the future, some counties and municipalities will require three credits of “Special Education Courses” for the purpose of teaching certification.
